As the lockdown continues to ease, we have been receiving more enquiries about when we will be reopening The St Joseph’s Parish Neighbourhood Centre.
Church Halls, and the activities therein, mostly fall into the Unregulated category. This means that all the activities we would or could hold in a Church Hall can only be held if the relevant industry sector guidance is followed. This also means that the regulations for meetings indoors govern what can be allowed to happen and, at the moment, this is still a maximum of 8 people from 3 households.
Peeblesshire Foodbank has been operating from The Neighbourhood Centre and will be relocating to new premises soon. The committee meanwhile is planning how to reopen the centre. We continue to follow the Governments guidelines and our fundamental concern must be to ensure that our facilities are safe for everyone. With social distancing ongoing The Neighbourhood Centre will operate at a reduced capacity. We will continue to review the situation and guidance regularly.
As part of planning for reopening we will be contacting our regular user groups towards the end of September. Further updates on our plans for reopening will be posted on as they are confirmed.
